Oneonta State senior Musu Jackson-Buckner and NCAA team champion Wisconsin Oshkosh are the valedictorians on the 2006 Division III USTFCCCA Women's All-Academic Track & Field Team.

The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) honored Division III individuals and teams for their academic and athletic accomplishments during the outdoor track season. The Division I and Division II All-Academic teams are listed on www.ustfccca.org.

Wisconsin Oshkosh is the Division III USTFCCCA Women's All-Academic Team of the Year for the 2006 outdoor season. The Titans won the women's team title at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Lisle, Ill., scoring 52 points.

The Titans also claimed national academic honors with their cumulative grade-point average of 3.22. Wisconsin Oshkosh qualified nine women for the All-Academic team.

Jackson-Buckner won the 200-meter dash at the NCAA Division III Championships in 23.75 seconds. Jackson-Buckner also finished second in the 100 meters and anchored the Red Dragons to a third-place finish in the 4x100 relay.

Due largely to her efforts, Oneonta State tied for third in the team scoring with 41 points.

Jackson-Buckner is the 2006 Division III Female Scholar Athlete of the Year. The English major had a 3.8 GPA.

Joining Jackson-Buckner on the USTFCCCA Women's All-Academic Team are two other NCAA individual champions - Christine Hendricks of Calvin College (heptathlon) and Rachel Anderson of Illinois Wesleyan (400 meters).

Fifty Division III women's teams had cumulative grade-point averages of 3.0 or higher. Wisconsin La Crosse had the most women on the All-Academic team with 10.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, athletes needed to balance a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 with an NCAA qualifying standard in their event.
