NEW ORLEANS - Tufts University is the No. 1 team in the women's USTFCCCA Division III Coaches Power Rankings polls which was released this afternoon by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Jumbos have 198.14 points and only lead No. 2 Illinois Wesleyan by a short margin. The Cardinals of North Central College (195.38) come in at No. 3 this week followed by the University of Chicago (184.50) and No. 5 Augustana (Ill.) College (184.32).

The University of Rochester and Roanoke College are ranked sixth and seventh respectively, followed by Allegheny College, St. Lawrence University and Emory University to complete the top ten.

Last year's women's NCAA champion, Williams College, is ranked 16th.

The 2008 NCAA Men's and Women's Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held March 14-15, 2008 at the ONU Sports Center. Ohio Northern University is the host for the championships.

North Central College is the top-ranked Division III men's team.
