Florida State Looks toward NCAA Championships with Men's No. 1 Ranking

NEW ORLEANS -LSU was once again named the top team in the women's USTFCCCA Division I Indoor Track and Field Rankings, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Tuesday.  The Lady Tigers have held the number one ranking in every week this season.  Can the Tigers continue that trend?

The quest for that dominance begins on Friday, March 14 in Fayetteville, as LSU and several other top 25 teams will descend on the University of Arkansas for the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field National Championship. LSU will be tested by second-ranked Arizona State and third-ranked Tennessee.

Tennessee leads the women's field with 14 qualifiers.  Arizona State has 13 followed by LSU's 12.

Fourth-ranked Michigan and fifth-ranked Texas A&M went unchanged this week and should also push for the team title this weekend.

The Kansas Jayhawks improved two spots this week to No. 6 in the rankings followed by Stanford and Minnesota and Nos. 7 and 8 respectively.  Arkansas moved up four spots this week to No. 9 in the rankings with No. 10 Florida completing the top ten.
The NCAA Championships will be held March 14-15 at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  A total of 568 participants will compete in the championships.  Student-athletes qualified for the championships by reaching the automatic and provisional standards established for each event.

Florida State is this week's top-ranked women's team.
