View Men's Release | View Complete National Rankings NEW ORLEANS - With many teams resting in preparation for their respective conference championships, the nation's top 14 teams remained the same in the women's USTFCCCA Indoor Track and Field Rankings released today by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Louisiana State University Lady Tigers remain the top team for the sixth straight week as they travel to Fayetteville, Ark., this weekend for the Southeastern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. LSU is looking to win its 11th indoor SEC championship and its first since 1999. Four other SEC schools--Tennessee (fourth), Arkansas (ninth), Florida (14th) and Mississippi, who moved up two spots in this week's rankings to 15th--will challenge Head Coach Dennis Shaver's talented squad for the always competitive SEC title. Three other squads moved up in the standings this week. The Arizona Wildcats, led by junior pentathlete Shevell Quintley and sophomore high jumper Elizabeth Patterson, improved to 18th as the Southern Illinois Salukis jumped Iowa and Oregon and improved to 19th. They Baylor Bears re-entered the rankings this week at No. 24 after being ranked as high as seventh in Week 2. The 2008 USTFCCCA Division I Rankings are released on Wednesdays during the indoor season. The rankings are compiled by Tom Lewis, assistant sports information director at Missouri. The 2008 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held March 14-15 in Fayetteville, Ark. Arizona State is this week's top-ranked men's team.
