Margaret Simmons was the head women's track & field coach at Murray State University from 1968 to 1991 and the head women's cross country coach from 1971 to 1991. She was named women's conference coach of the year six times and her teams won eight cross country and track conference titles. She was named Kentucky Women's Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 1979 and 1981. Margaret is currently assistant athletic director and senior women's administrator at Murray State. She is a member of the NCAA Track & Field Committee and is a member of the Murray State Athletics Hall of Fame.
