Frans Bosch to Conduct Advanced Sprints Coaching Symposium at 2007 USTFCCCA Convention

NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association is pleased to announce Frans Bosch, as the featured speaker for the Advanced Sprints Coaching Symposium to be held December 16th and 17th during the annual USTFCCCA Convention in Phoenix.

Bosch, a professor of biomechanics and motor learning at Fontys University for Applied Science in The Netherlands, is also the co-author of the outstanding book "Running Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology Applied in Practice".

"Frans Bosch and his colleague Ronald Klomp have put together, in my opinion, the best publication on running and running mechanics that has ever been produced," said Illinois head coach Gary Winckler.

"In July, Frans helped us put on the best Level III Coaching School that we have ever had. He presented some new ways of looking at sprinting, from the point of view of anatomy that helped stimulate a coach's thinking about how to teach and evaluate technique," added Winckler.

Additionally, Bosch and Klomp produced the acclaimed DVD "Running: the BK Method". Bosch was the Netherlands national team jumps coach from 2003-2006 and also served on that country's Olympic staff in 2000 and 2004.

During the Advanced Sprints Coaches Symposium, Bosch will cover the following topics:

Sunday, December 16th - (6 - 10 p.m.) Monday, December 17th - (8 - 11:45 a.m.)

The USTFCCCA Convention will also feature Advanced Coaching Symposiums shot put, the long jump and middle distance. All of the Advanced Coaching Symposiums are included with your registration to the 2007 USTFCCCA Convention in Phoenix.
