Advanced Coaching Symposiums

presented by TARTAN

The Advanced Coaching Symposiums presented by TARTAN, a hugely popular event at the 2006 USTFCCCA convention, have been expanded for 2007 with the addition of a fourth event topic.

The Advanced Coaching Symposiums will once again be featured on Sunday evening beginning at 6:00 PM and continuing Monday morning at 8:00 AM.

A dedicated eight hour symposium session will be conducted on each of the following event areas:

Long Jump (conducted by Jim Van Hootegem, Texas A&M, and Jeremy Fischer, Oklahoma)

Middle Distance Training (conducted by James Li, University of Arizona, and Al Schmidt, Mississippi State University)

Sprint Training and Mechanics (conducted by Frans Bosch, The Netherlands)

Shot Put (conducted by Dave Dumble, Arizona State , and Brett Halter, Missouri)

Technical Seminars presented by TARTAN will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 8:00 AM through 9:30 AM.

Tuesday's Technical Seminars:

400-meter Hurdles (conducted by Dennis Shaver, LSU)

Discus (conducted by Mike Maynard, Boise State)

Pole Vault (conducted by Dave Nielsen, Idaho State )

Strength Training for Distance Runners (conducted by Vern Gambetta

Wednesday's Technical Seminars:

Strength Training for Speed and Power Events (conducted by Vern Gambetta)

Transitioning from Cross Country to Indoor

Weight Throw (conducted by Larry Judge)
